SALLY ANDERSON
Sally is the Director of Pilates International Pty Ltd, incorporating Pilates International Training Centre (PilatesITC) and Pilates International Studios (licensed). Sally has recently led the upgrade of PilatesITC qualifications to the new outcomes, giving the industry it’s first Advanced Diploma level qualification. In addition to her own Advanced Diploma Pilates qualification and over twenty years experience in the Pilates Method, Sally holds Cert IV in Training & Assessment and is currently completing an Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Medicine. Sally is founding and current President of the Pilates Alliance Australasia and founding co-director of the annual industry conference Mind Your Body. PilatesITC is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO No. 90901) and internationally registered with the Pilates Method Alliance (USA). Sally continues to deliver education worldwide and is thrilled to have recently been invited to deliver training for the dynamic new ‘Pilates Anytime’ online programs for USA. SHAUNA HALL
Shauna’s qualifications include: MA Womens Health, Bachelor Arts (Dance), Registered Nursing Sister, and Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice. Shauna commenced her Pilates training in 1986 and has since completed full certification from Body Arts and Science (USA) followed by upgrading that training to the Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice. Shauna has worked with renowned Pilates teachers such as Rael Isacowitz, Romana Krysanowska, Brent Anderson, Kathy Corey And Karen Clippinger. In 1994, Shauna was a founding member of the Australian Pilates Method Association; the national administrator (Australia) Body Arts and Science, and was an elected board member for the Pilates Alliance Australasia. Shauna is a sought after presenter and mentor in all aspects of Pilates and specialised health and well-being. Since 1990 Shauna has owned and operated three Pilates studios, before moving to Melbourne and focusing on her continuing post-graduate education and research. Shauna is currently completing post graduate studies in Pharmacology.
SONIA CRISAFULLI
Sonia initially undertook APMA training in the Pilates Method, following which she completed the Polestar Pilates Studio Series. Having worked extensively in Melbourne and Sydney over 2001- 2003, she moved to London where she undertook further training with Body Control Pilates UK before moving into a Teacher Trainer role for them. Sonia continued to deliver teacher training and continuing education for Body Control Pilates UK, as well as taking on the role of Studio Manager for that organization. Upon returning to Australia at the end of 2005 Sonia joined Pilates International as a studio teacher and student supervisor, and upgraded her qualifications to the Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction. In September 2006 she was a guest presenter at the Body Control Pilates UK conference, delivering workshops on Pre and Post Natal Pilates, as well as giving an Advanced Matwork presentation. From late 2006 Sonia joined the PilatesITC faculty with a permanent position as Course Co-ordinator commencing from January 2007. Sonia also holds a Bachelor of Dance, and has completed her Pre/Post Natal Specialist Certification from The Center for Women’s Fitness (USA).
JENNIFER NEWMAN-PRESTON
Jennifer graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1985 with a BA in Dance. A professional dancer with a career spanning over 20 years, Jennifer has performed & toured extensively, both nationally and internationally. Jennifer has practiced Yoga since 1984, gaining her Anatomy & Physiology Certificate and completing her Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Synergy, as well as teaching for Yoga Synergy for many years. Jennifer first explored Pilates whilst performing during 1994 and since then has had extensive training and experience. In 1998 she began teaching the Pilates Method, and in 2000 she took on a senior instructor role for Pilates International Sydney. Jennifer went on to complete her formal International Certification through the Body Arts & Science Professional Program in 2002 before upgrading to the formal qualification of Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice in 2005. Jennifer holds Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training and is a leading Faculty member for PilatesITC. Having moved to Melbourne in 2008 she was a Principal Instructor for Daily Pilates, while continuing to be a Teacher Trainer & Educator for PilatesITC, and concurrently undertaking her Masters in Choreography. In 2010 Pilates International accredited the highest ever Pilates qualification at Advanced Diploma, which Jennifer successfully achieved through the faculty Upgrade Program. Jennifer is a Principal Trainer member of the Pilates Alliance Australasia, and is now Studio Director and Principal for Pilates International Melbourne. She continues to deliver education and mentor upcoming Pilates teachers for PilatesITC.
KRISTY WETHERELL
Kristy has always had an interest in human movement, health and science and graduated from The University of Sydney in 1996 with a Bachelor of Medical Science. Her avid interest in health and fitness led Kristy to study the Pilates Method in 1998. Undertaking apprenticeship training initially at Solutions for Pain and Injury provided her with experience in a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of pain and injuries, and in the application of Pilates-based exercise for injury rehabilitation. Kristy went on to obtain her Body Arts and Science Certification in 2000 followed by her Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice with Pilates International in 2004. She also held Gold Certification by the Pilates Method Alliance (USA) and holds her Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. Kristy was a founding member of the Pilates Alliance Australasia (PAA) and owned and ran her own studio in the south of Sydney for 7 years. She now focuses on Pilates specialist Training in her role as Course Director for PilatesITC.
